“I loved participating in the Friends of Forsythe Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs. I also became the First Junior Volunteer of the Wildlife Refuge this summer and plan to volunteer and participate whenever I am in New Jersey."

"Today, in the Refuge Noelia and I helped out with the purple martins. We checked the little houses to see if they had baby birds or teen birds. They did ! But a bunch of the birds already fledged. Ms. Lenahan was with the purple matrins data book and was telling Mr. Peter and Mr. Al. It was a lot of fun, when Noelia and I got to pet one purple martin and got to carry one young purple martin. We saw one purple martin with a dragonfly in its mouth and another one on another little house with a wasp in its mouth. We used sheets that had pictures of how purple martins developed. This expereince was fun and helpful because if your dealing with wildlife you're helping nature!

“Today Alexandra and I went to the refuge with Ms. Lenahan. We helped Mr. Peter and Mr. Al with the purple martin babies. Mr. Peter let me hold a baby bird. When I touched the bird, its wing tickled my palm!"
